The first school ever asked for by the Brighton Seminoles was built in 1938-39 using much Seminole labor. The school opened on January 9, 1939 with an enrollment of eight students. It closed in 1954 when Seminole children enrolled in Florida public school. A screened front porch and office were added to the original school building in the 1950s.
